Madhubani painting, 'The Cowherd'

A gentle cow devotedly follows Lord Krishna as he plays a message of peace on his flute. The milkmen's wives dance ecstatically to Krishna's sweet music. Devendra Kumar Jha and Family paint the elegant scene in the traditional Madhubani style. Using vegetable dyes on handmade paper, they perpetuate an ancestral art form, thus slight variations in colors can be expected.
